Herd Mentality no More: Your children are Not a Herd
Although many family activities are together as a group and that's a great thing, each child needs a one-on-one with each parent individually (mom and child, dad and child) and you as a couple (mom and dad and child) at least once a month.
Yes, you can do this. You need to do this. Put this on your calendar. Your children are not a herd.
It can be something as simple as a drink together at the table and chairs in the grocery store lobby. Take some time to relax together and talk about more than just logistics of the week or month.
Share an emotional connection moment. Tell your child something on your heart and ask a few questions to get your child talking to you.
Just my mom and dad and me.
Just my mom and dad and me.

Summer, Kids, and the Olympics
I pamper by serving cold beverages in chilled or frozen glasses.
Arizonians know trees are the best invention for shade.
Driven by a trailer in the country with a mother cat sitting underneath?
Kids learn what a summer tree is for when they get hot enough.
Life was simple when a cold washcloth on the forehead was the
cure for problems.
A tepid cup of tea lacks passion.
Feel the hot of coffee even in the summer.
Before church nurseries, parents would sit
on the back row "Cherrio Row" with their fidgety children.
I love Cheerios, cut bananas, and ice cold milk.
I love Baby Magic Lotion.
Baby's soft skin doesn't need it but we smooth it on
because we are drawn to the irresistible aroma.
I've had more than one child tell me that if I would
have been as encouraging to them as Michael Jordan's mom
was to him, they would be in the Olympics.
I love my kids.

10 Things I'll Never Say to my Children Anytime Soon...
….Why waste all that time, all those hours, all that toothpaste brushing your teeth?
…Nevermind we adults are exactly like you, we are just grown-up kids.
…Don’t you want to get up later? I admit I've just been jealous of your sleeping in.
…Please quit hogging the dog, you never let me have a turn to take care of Marshmallow.
…It turns out we don’t all have to learn how to play the piano, I apologize for all those long lessons.
…Your brother actually played thousands more video games than you do, so go for it.
…I'm so tired of the beautiful multi-color sweet smelling rose garden at the park, let’s go home.
…Let’s forget the dirt bike ride on nature mountain trail and just watch television all weekend.
…I think traveling 60,000 miles to eat at Burger King was worth the trip, don't you dad?
...I'm so very sorry for living my life through you, just because I wanted to play the violin and be a lifeguard...

Reference from Liz:
Cheryl's book offers many wonderful activities to entertain and teach your preschooler. I was amazed by the variety of creative ideas she presents. She covers many topics (the bible, play, art, drama, music, language, math, science, history, cultures and so on). In addition, she offers free resources that you can use for different activities. I especially like how Cheryl offers ideas for involving other parents and their preschoolers in some activities because this gives both the parents and children a time to socialize. I strongly recommend this book to any parent, preschool teacher or home-school group looking for a useful resource with new and fun activities to do with their children.

Are you planning on homeschooling your preschooler but can't afford all the curriculum you picked out?
Or, perhaps you already are homeschooling your preschooler, but still need additional ideas and supplemental materials? Who doesn’t need help these days with the rising costs that impact a family’s budget? Help is on the way – in fact this book may be the answer. I have used this both some years as a curriculum and some years as a supplement to curriculum.

Eight Ways A Parent Can Answer their Kid's Complaints on Vacation
1. "This is boring..."
Answer: Pretend you are one of the Irish Tenors and sing "Danny Boy" at the top of your voice while occasionally dabbing your eyes with a Kleenex."
2. "It's taking too long to get there..."
Answer: Tell the kids, "The people we're going to visit serve stewed spinach and frozen ox tongue for breakfast and lunch every day. Still want us to step on it?"
3. "I'd rather be back home in my own room..."
Answer: Hold up an envelope and tear it in half again and again and say, "You're absolutely right. I always told your grandparents these tickets to Disneyland were a stupid idea from the very beginning."
4. "I think we need to stop, I'm feeling sick..." Answer: "I'm so sorry, sweetheart. But don't worry...look up... I've taped a lunch bag on the car ceiling above each seat."
5. "She's sitting on my side of the seat. Tell her to move over..."
Answer: Crawl over the back seat between them and attempt to stand on your head on the floor of the car while flailing your legs in the air shouting, "Danger...danger...Will Smith...intruder detected....danger...."
6. "You promised this would be fun..."
Answer: Produce two oxygen masks from the glove compartment, putting one on your husband's face and the other on your own. Breathe deeply then start laughing hysterically. Keep laughing until you are crying, While you both are still unable to speak scratch out the words, "Laughing Gas" on a piece of paper. Offer to share your masks with the kids.
7. "There's nothing I like to eat here..."
Answer: Bring along some large granola pieces poured into a dog food bag. Pour them out in a dish at the restaurant and start eating with just your mouth. Look up occasionally and bark. When you're finished say, "Hmmm...you're right. This tastes so much better. Here, you try some."
8. "We never have enough money to have any real fun..."
Answer: "Money doesn't grow on trees.
Second Answer: "Actually money does grow on trees, because it's made out of paper."

You know it's time for summer to end...
1) When you start telling your kids that you're bored.
2) You've quit wearing perfume and instead settle for two sprays of misquoto repellent..
3) You've grilled everything you can think of including your husband's favorite pair of flip flops.
4) The only family vacation you want to take is to Slumberland.
5) You cut the grass in the shape of a giant calendar to you can mark the days until school starts.
6) You've started using the hedge clippers to trim your own hair.
7) The lemonade has turned ruby red -- exactly the same color as the tube of lipstick you can't find.
8) You've eaten so much sweet corn that you now chew your green beans holding them with both hands.
9) Your garden produced so many zucchinis that you have started hiding them in the purses of friends who visit.
10) You get caught trying to buy school supplies for yourself.

No Sew Tshirt Summer Projects
1. Neckline: Cut about one inch down
around the whole neckline for a new more girly neckline. 2. Sides:
Tshirt was a men's large: made it into a women's small. Cut back some
of the tshirt on both sides all the way down, saving 2 inches more on
each side than you think you need for the ties. Cut small 1 inch wide
slits along the sides of the t-shirt, or down the spine area. Tie them
tight into knots. (Same procedure as for a tie quilt.) 3. Love your

We celebrate volunteer musicians have time to enjoy a hobby a sign of a free society.
We celebrate sights sounds senses
We celebrate soldiers in uniform standing tall
